Primary Business Support was established in 2002 to provide support to private sector organisations working in the public sector.
Lead consultant Peter Bird has over twenty five years management experience in the public sector. Although based in the social housing business his experience covers a whole range of business disciplines including property management, facilities management, human resources, systems design and evaluation, public relations, marketing and tendering and tender evaluation.
He has undertaken business review in both local authorities and housing associations and was selected to join a multi-disciplinary review team, evaluating services and providing in-house consultancy, during his time working for Test Valley Borough Council.
He was a key player in the management team that established Testway Housing Ltd in 2000 and he went on to become Director of Corporate Services where he delivered the organisation's prestigious headquarters and satellite office. Through his team of specialists he established the organisation's HR and IT infrastructure and created a distinct brand within the sector and local community.
Having established the new association's corporate services Peter left Testway in 2002 to work as an independent business consultant. Providing consultancy to independent business sectors as diverse as interior design and independent television the mainstream of the new business has been in providing services to local authorities and housing associations and various specialist suppliers to the sector.
Peter's management skills were recognised in 2002 when he was invited to become a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. This recognition complemented his position as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
