    Short Notice Inspection Methodology published

    The Audit Commission has published its methodology for Short Notice Inspection of Arms Length Management Organisations and Local Authorities.

    As part of its consultation process a number of organisations volunteered to take part
    in the pilot programme. The AC will now undertake pilot inspections in a variety of ALMOs and LAs, looking at a range of different services. The programme will focus on organisations that have volunteered to take part in the pilot and will include unitary, metropolitan, district councils etc.

    Where organisations have volunteered to have particular services inspected these will be taken into account.

    The pilot programme of up to eight inspections will be carried out between March and July 2009.
