Best Value and Service Review

We have experience of undertaking Best Value and Service Review on a number of projects as employees, and as consultants to several local authorities and housing associations, and an almshouse trust:

  • Communications Review - Critical Friend for two organisations.
  • Equal opportunities review for several organisations.
  • Review of arrears collection arrangements, including a survey of high performing organisations against which to benchmark and obtain examples of best preactice.
  • Comprehensive review of void management processes, including choice based allocations, housing management and housing maintenance aspects, identifying areas for improvement.
  • A review for an Almhouse Trust to ensure that its management arrangements were appropriate and that its interests where suitably managed.
  • Acting as a critical friend in a review of arrangements for resident involvement procedures (working with residents).
  • Undertaking an assessment of a local authority's Housing Strategy in preparation for its CPA.
  • A substantial review of arrangements for resident involvement and community investment for a national RSL.
  • A comprehensive survey of a housing association's Support Service's professional stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and development.
  • A survey of tenants who had recently moved into sheltered housing to assess how the process of moving home could be improved.
