Business Support has operated as an independent business consultancy
since 2002.
We provide a Company Secretarial service and act as lead consultant to a rural housing association managing and developing new homes in Hampshire; we also work with HouseMark - the leading bench-marking organisation within the social housing business - as an Associate and we provide support and advice to a number of other housing organisations. We are Principal Associates to IMS Executive who provide interim managers and consultancy services.
We
provide consultancy, support and interim management in a broad range
of areas within the social housing sector. Consultancy work has
included arrears recovery strategies, voids management, performance
measurement and contract procurement. Interim Management has
included an eleven month contract covering the responsibilities
of the Assistant Chief Executive at a major LSVT association.
A
number of our contracts are repeat business which, in itself, gives
testament to the satisfaction of our clients.
Our
proprietor is Peter Bird. He has worked in a number of positions
within the social housing sector over the past 30+ years. In addition to a range of
positions within housing management he has also specified and commissioned
software including the First Housing software product when it was
under development by Oracle UK. He has worked in facilities
management (including the commissioning and management of the delivery
of a £3m office development) and developed PR and Communications
strategies. Peter's last employed position was as Director
of Corporate Services for a housing association with an annual turnover
in excess of £16m.
Peter
has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing for many
years. In 2002 his strategic skills were recognised when he
was invited to become a Fellow
of the Chartered Management Institute.
At present Peter is acting as an Advisor under the Young Enterprise scheme and has been a member of the Test Valley Business Awards Steering Committee for the past two years.
